CPSIA

CPSIA stands for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. This act is a broad piece of legislation designed to improve the safety of, among other things, children’s toys and children’s products. This act has set specific upper limits for the amount of lead, lead compounds and specific phthalates (DeHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DnOP and DIDP) that a product can contain. The breakdown of limits are listed below:

Test Item Requirement/Permissible Limit Effective Date
Lead in Accessible Substrate Materials <= 600ppm February 10, 2009
Lead in Accessible Substrate Materials <= 300ppm August 14, 2009
Lead in Accessible Substrate Materials <= 100ppm August 14, 2011
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009
Benzylbutyl Phthalate (BBP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009
Bis-(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009
Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009
Di-n-octyl Phthalate (DNOP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009
Diisodecyl Phthalate (DIDP) 0.1% (Percentage by Weight) February 10, 2009

Univenture has contracted independent, 3rd party testing facilities to determine that our products do not contain these materials above the limits listed above.

Univenture has test results on file confirming that products produced from the below list of raw meet the material requirements of the CPSIA. In fact, with respect to lead, these products meet the August 14, 2011 requirement and, therefore, contain less than 100 ppm.
